Night Sky & Aurora Borealis

The Hudson Bay area is fortunate to have some of the darkest sky that can be found on earth. The boreal forest around the community allows for areas of little to no light pollution which is the most important thing when it comes to viewing the night sky. On a clear night, just a few minutes out of town away from the lights, the sky is a blanket of stars. Some will never see a sky like this. Due to the undeveloped forest to the North, the view of the Aurora Borealis is also a common sight around Hudson Bay.

With little light pollution, a dark northern horizon and being located under the aurora oval, the location provides a great opportunity to experience one of nature’s most remarkable phenomenon right near town. A strong and active aurora show can also be seen beyond the streetlights right from in town, the sky can get that bright!
