ATVing

The Hudson Bay area provides an excellent opportunity to head out on an ATV and enjoy the wilderness. Althought there is no formal trail system, and it is preferred ATVs not use the Snowmobile Trails, the Forest provides several informal trail options in the summer. With hundreds of miles of abandoned logging roads and old hunting trails that provide a scenic ride or an exciting challenge. Hudson Bay is surrounded by the Porcupine Provincial Forest and the Pasquia Provincial Forest giving ample opportunities to explore the back country.

Keep in mind there is no formal trail system for ATVing around Hudson Bay. Here are some common areas informal trails can be found:

McBride Lake & Reserve Area – With camping available at the McBride lake, there are informal several trails throughout the hilly and forested terrain.

North of Hudson Bay off Highway 9 there are several old trails and former roads that can be explored taking you deep into the Northern Provincial Forest.

Porcupine Hills – In the Porcupine Hills east of Hudson Bay, there is plenty of space to explore. Camping is available at the several lakes and Moose Range Lodge provides cabin rentals and services.
