Community Recreation Hub<\/h4>\n
Located in the heart of the Town of Hudson Bay is a multi-purpose area housing a large number of the community\u2019s facilities. Initiated in 1970 and redeveloped in 2015, the area incorporates a fully equipped playground, fenced tennis courts, outdoor basketball court, two shale minor ball diamonds, a football field, a track field, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and an indoor artificial ice skating Arena which was built in 1988. In 2015 the new Hudson Bay Community School was constructed, which involved the reconstruction of this recreation area to include a modern playground, Skate Park with pumptrack, new tennis courts, basketball courts and natural space.<\/p>\n

Facilities and Programs<\/h4>\n
Recreationally speaking, Hudson Bay boasts a wide assortment of facilities, programs and organizations to meet the needs of sport, culture, and recreational enthusiasts alike. With an Arena, Curling Rink, Aquatic Centre, Skatepark, Tennis Courts, Ball Diamonds and Multiuse facilities, Hudson Bay provides the facilities needed for community recreation.<\/p>\n
The Town of Hudson Bay and Rural Municipality of Hudson Bay #394 have citizen appointed committees whose responsibilities are to facilitate and enable the development of leisure activities for the urban and rural residents of the community. Over $250,000 dollars are spent annually by the Town to operate their recreation and cultural services budget.<\/p>\n

The three newest recreation facilities in the community are the Aquatic Centre, the Curling Rink, and the multi-purpose Arena which opened in 1989 and is valued at $1.8 million. <\/p>\n
The twenty-five meter outdoor heated pool which was constructed in 1982 and valued at over $400,000 provided the community with a structured aquatic Red Cross and Royal Life Saving program for all age groups. Fundraising for improvements are currently underway.<\/p>\n
The four sheet artificial ice curling arena was built in 1984 at a cost of approximately $520,000. The Curling Rink is located at the southern edge of Hudson Bay. It provides a wide range of curling activities.<\/p>\n
Another major facility is the Recreation Complex, known as Brooks Hall. Built in 1977 with recent renovations in 2020, the Complex houses the Town\u2019s Administration Office, meeting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a 500 seat auditorium which is also equipped to handle a variety of community activities.<\/p>\n
Additional community recreational facilities include an all-season walking trail, community theatre, 2 additional shale ball diamonds at West Bay, fitness center and a seniors\u2019 centre which provides activities and meeting space for the seniors of our community.<\/p>\n
Located two kilometers south of Hudson Bay is the Regional Park. The Park offers a variety of scenic and recreational opportunities. A nine-hole grass green golf course, three ball diamonds, a shooting range, a horse racing track, nature trails, cross country ski trails, and a serviced campground complete with showers.
\nSituated 10 kilometers north of Hudson Bay is Ruby Lake. The area includes a public beach, camping facilities, a boating area, ball diamond and private cabins.<\/p>\n

The Hudson Bay area boasts over 680 kilometers of groomed and signed snowmobile trails operated by the local snowmobile club, the Trail Riders. ATV riding is also a popular past time using old logging roads and trails.
\nAlso in the surrounding Hudson Bay area are numerous lakes for fishing and boating.<\/p>\n
From a tourism perspective, Hudson Bay is very active as a destination point. For years, hunters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts alike from all over Canada and the United States have visited our community and utilized the natural beauty which surrounds us. <\/p>\n
Hudson Bay boasts a museum and a Heritage Park. The concept of the Park is to recreate the Town of Hudson Bay as it existed circa 1909. The Park is located at the junction of Provincial Highways 3 and 9.<\/p>\n
