RE: Emergency Response Planning 2025

Provincial legislation requires every Town to have an Emergency Response Plan in place and approved by Mayor and Council. Hudson Bay has had a plan in place for some time, but it has not been updated in recent years. We are in the process of updating and rebuilding our Emergency Response Plan.

A very important part of the plan is the “Evacuation” section. We must have a detailed evacuation plan prepared for the community in the event of a major emergency such as wildfire, tornado, flood, ice storm, chemical spill, major power outage, etc.

In the event of a community evacuation, we need to understand which residents would be most vulnerable, which residents need assistance, and which residents would be capable and willing to help.

Therefore, we would appreciate everyone’s assistance to help us develop this plan.  The questionnaire can be found in all Town resident mailboxes or online by using the options listed below. Please complete the questionnaire and return it by mail, email or drop off at the Town office. Your submission will automatically be sent to the Town office if you complete the form online.

Although this form is voluntary, it is very important to complete.  Please know all information collected will be kept confidential and only used in the event of an emergency.

Once the plan is completed, we will be sharing an emergency information package on the Town Website.  This emergency information package will not include any private information collected.

If you have questions feel free to call the Town office at 865-2261.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping us gather this very important information.
